Lucy Breakers is a really interesting new format of nicotine pouches. You may be familiar with Lucy because they make a popular line of nicotine gum. Over the past few years, they’ve gradually been expanding into nicotine pouches. But, what makes this one interesting is that it has something very unique, something no other nicotine pouch on the market has: a flavor/moisture capsule inside the pouch.
In this review, we’ll be trying their Apple Ice flavor with LUCY Breakers Apple Ice 8mg and LUCY Breakers Apple Ice 4mg!
Lucy says more about this new format: “Break up with your old nicotine routine and discover the uniquely hydrating experience of Breakers. Like our Pouches, Breakers are packed with pure nicotine and flavor - but there’s an extra surprise. Each Breakers pouch holds a tiny jewel-like capsule that can be broken open to release a flood of extra flavor and hydration, whenever you choose. They’re a breakthrough in pouch technology, and only available from LUCY.”
Product Specifics:
Portion Format: Mini Dry Pouch
Portion Count: 15 pouches
Available Nicotine Strengths: 4mg/pouch and 8mg/pouch
How to Use LUCY Breakers
- place a pouch under your lip
- pop the breaker inside for more flavor
- keep in your mouth for up to 20 minutes
- toss it after you’re done.
Of course you can keep it in as long as you want, but that is just their suggestion.
Opening up the can, you’ll see the flavor capsule in the pouch. It’s blue, and is pretty apparent through the pouch material. When I put one of these in the lip, I use my teeth to bite down and crack the capsule open. From there, I find it has a pretty interesting release of flavor, along with more moisture. The pouches are pretty dry at first to the touch, but the capsules helps them moisten up pretty quickly. Under the lip, they’re pretty comfortable once the capsule pops. The aroma that comes through at first is a mild aroma of apple with a subtle freshness to it. That doesn’t sound too intense, but I find the flavor to have more depth and character to it. The apple flavor is pretty present, and rich. It’s a refreshing, slightly minty taste with some sweetness to it. The capsule really opened up the flavor, and gave it a lot of presence. In the strength, the 4mg one is a lighter one, and for those with lighter nicotine cravings. I found the 8mg one to be more in line with what I like, and delivering closer to the regular strength level. The flavor lasts a good amount of time, hanging out for about 40-45 minutes.
Wrap-Up & Recommendation:
This product is very interesting, and exciting, as is this entire Lucy Breakers series. It goes where no nicotine pouch has before: flavor capsules. If you’re looking for something different, this certainly is that. It will be interesting to see as time goes on if other companies try out this product format, and how the Lucy family expands to add more products like this in the future.
Snubie’s Opinion:
I’ve reviewed every nicotine pouch on the market. Well, maybe 99% of them. Honestly, a lot of them can tend to run together. But, I do get excited when I get to try something that is new, or innovative. This product is definitely innovative. In regard to this particular flavor, I think people who like fruit and/or mint flavors are really going to enjoy it.
